The great gig guys!
We are a small, Scottish based production company that help local councils, corporate organisations, charities and individuals with little/no experience in the entertainment sector stage events and create compelling content.
Event production
Since 2007, we’ve created and produced
- Christmas light roadshows for South Lanarkshire Council
- The Queens Baton Relay shows for North Ayrshire Council
- 10k funruns and town centre music events
- Annual comedy festival for Hamilton BID
- Various corporate events for organisations such as Glasgow Airport, Coca Cola, Barratt Homes and Holiday Inn Express to name but a few…
Staging, security, talent, green room facilities, live streaming, AV, H&S, catering, power, licensing – we can handle it all! Take a look around our website to see where we’ve been and what we’ve done, then call us to chat about turning your ideas into reality.
Content creation
Promotional films, podcasts, creative photography, online streaming – at Zap! Entertainment we do it all!
If it’s time to tell your organisation’s story, let Zap! help you work up a filming schedule, write the script, interview contributors, film the “B” roll, organise the special effects / drone shots and snap it all together via a slick edit with an inspiring voice over. (Check out our latest production for South Lanarkshire’s Tourism Department above).
Alternatively, if your marketing plan calls for regular podcast production, we can help get your show online with editing, EQ, SFX, copywriting, jingles, idents, backing beds, and royalty-free music.
who we are
About Dougie Jackson
After a highly successful career in the Scottish media industry (which allowed him to travel the world interviewing the biggest names in the music business during the 90s/00s), Dougie Jackson decided to parlay his radio / TV / newspaper experience – and contacts – into the creation of production company Zap! Entertainment.
In tandem with these two careers, Dougie also managed to amass 30 years of gigging experience as an event host/charity auctioneer, working for a raft of corporate organisations whilst raising cash for good causes such as Help for Heroes, The Prince’s Trust and MacMillan Cancer.
During lockdown, he joined forces with clinician Andy Griffiths to produce the mental health podcast “Tickety Boo”, studied to become a licensed marriage celebrant (launching the ceremony business, Yourbigday.scot), and learned how to sling a decent pizza.
In between running Zap!, working out at the gym and getting his head around Artificial Intelligence, Dougie’s currently renovating a house nearby the Forth and Clyde Canal in Stirlingshire.
