About Dougie Jackson
After a highly successful career in the Scottish media industry (which allowed him to travel the world interviewing the biggest names of the 90s/00 music business), Dougie leveraged his radio/TV/newspaper experience – and contacts – by creating his own production company, Zap! Entertainment Ltd.
In addition to the above, Dougie’s also worked as an event host & charity auctioneer for a raft of corporate organisations, raising money for good causes such as Help for Heroes, The Prince’s Trust and MacMillan Cancer.
During lockdown, he joined forces with clinician, friend and long-time collaborator Andy Griffiths to produce the mental health podcast “Tickety Boo”; studied to become a licensed marriage officer (launching the ceremony business, Yourbigday.scot), and learned how to sling a decent pizza.
In between running Zap! Entertainment and working out, Dougie’s currently renovating a house nearby the Forth and Clyde Canal in Stirlingshire.

At Zap, we produce shows and events which connect your brand to the very best world-class entertainers and entertainment service providers.
As you’ll have seen from the “Home” page timeline, we’ve spent the past 18 years creating theatre shows, comedy galas, food festivals, summer music gigs, Christmas light switch-ons, outside broadcasts for radio, TV and online streaming, World Cup tie-ins events….even a Royal Jubilee celebration for HRH Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
During lockdown, (necessity being the mother of invention…or, in this instance, re-invention) we returned to our media roots by producing podcasts, promotional films and visual content (photography, artwork, marketing materials) for a variety of clients and platforms. We now split our time 50-50 between media creation and event production (occasionally, we get to do both at the same time…thank you Atlas Hotels and South Lanarkshire Council).
We’ve worked with: chart acts, sports stars, heritage rock bands, ex-politicians, actors, DJs, motivational speakers, comedians, cabaret artists, classical musicians and TV personalities.
We’ve worked for: regional councils, charities, hotel chains, sports organisations, multi-nationals, financial groups, high-net-worth individuals, and the couple down the road who run our local Italian restaurant.
